World Classic Yacht Races.

The latest running of this Classic Race started today, the 26th December, 2007. From what I understand, this is the 63rd running of this race, which is apparently recognised as one of the top three Ocean Racing events, bar none. I know one of the others is the Fastnet, but I must confess to an ignorance of the third. Could possibly be the Admiral's Cup but I am not sure.

But..., but....., hang on folks. Apparently a previous competitor in this Classic race was none other than the infamous, mouth from the south, successful America's Cup defender, Ted Turner in the 70's, sailing a modified 12-metre.

This was way before my interest in yachting started, so if anybody has more information on Ted Turner's efforts, I wlould dearly love to know.
