The Albert Park One design

Well I don't have much history on the Albert Pak one design as such . It was a Marblehead design that sailed with thec club in the late 60s and early 70s. I believe the design was given to the club by a Mr Jeanurette. The boat had some success in the regattas I saw it raced in.

It had some pleasing feature in the hull design , such as a combination of round bilge and hard chine feature in the one hull. The Romilo brothers used to sail the boat regularly at Albert Park.

I wonder if there is still anyone out there who has some infor on thisdesign/ boat?

What an interesting design that must have been!

A round bilge and a hard chine?

Hmmm, I wonder if the new full size Maxi's racing in the Sydney to Hobart maybe have some of these characteristics. Seems the boats are very slab sided, but I cannot imagine the lower part of the hull would be anything but rounded.

Sounds like the Romilo's may have been well ahead of their time.
